Hopefully, we’ve piqued your interest in learning more about The Grounds Guys. The biggest question at this point in most people’s minds how do I evaluate this opportunity, and is it right for me and my situation. Fortunately, we have Franchise Developers on staff that have been trained in helping you make a quality business decision. It’s obviously a big decision for you, but it’s also a big decision for us. We regard it as a long-term decision and want to be sure that whoever we approve has a very high chance of success and will be a strong representative of the brand.

So, if you have decided that you need to make a change in your business life to be able to reach your business and personal goals, then the question is, “what is the best way to go about improving my business?” There are several paths you could choose from, three common paths are:

  • Go it alone – this is what you have been doing. If you’re like most people, you wear many hats and you’re skilled in some areas, and not so skilled in others. You could try harder, work longer hours, hire others to help you, etc. Trying harder and working longer, is not very appealing. Hiring others to shore up your areas of weakness may work; but do you have the recruiting, hiring, training, compensation, and retention systems in place to find the right people that have industry knowledge? How much do specialists like this cost? And how do you decide who to hire first…marketing, sales, technology, customer service, financial, etc.? Once you hire them, who trains them and manages them, and then what happens if they don’t work out?
  • Hire a consultant(s) – Consultants can be very helpful as they can come in with a fresh perspective and offer advice on what you should do to improve your business. The challenge here is can you find a consultant that has industry knowledge in the specific areas that you need help? The other challenging aspects of consultants are that they typically charge a high hourly rate, leave you with a bunch of ideas and then disappear, leaving you alone with the challenge of implementing their ideas.
  • Align with a franchise – this appeals to many people because not only do you get industry specific support, but it is also typically a good value when you compare it to the other alternatives. Also, with a franchise you are creating something that has lasting value that can be sold when you are ready to exit.

Your Franchise Developer can help you evaluate each of these options with respect to your unique circumstances. If you have not already done so, now would be the time to contact a Franchise Developer.
